Ramzy Baroud – Founder and Executive Director -
is an author and a journalist, former Al-Jazeera producer,
and founder of several progressive online media projects.
Baroud’s work has been published in hundreds of newspapers
and journals around the world, including The Washington Post,
The International Herald Tribune, The Christian Science Monitor,
The Philadelphia Inquirer, The Seattle Times, The Miami Herald,
The Japan Times and Al-Ahram Weekly. He has been a guest on
numerous television programs including CNN International,
BBC, ABC Australia, National Public Radio, Al-Jazeera and
many others. He has contributed to many anthologies and his
2002 book, Searching Jenin: Eyewitness Accounts of the Israeli
Invasion received widespread international recognition. His
second book, The Second Palestinian Intifada: A Chronicle
of a People’s Struggle was published in 2006 by Pluto Press,
also to worldwide critical acclaim. Ramzy Baroud is a very
experienced media practioner, who has taught Mass Communication
at Curtin University of Technology, and has been a guest speaker
at top universities around the world, including Massachusetts
Institute of Technology, Virginia Commonwealth University,
Rutgers, Penn State and Manchester University, among many
others.
Pablo Ouziel – Business Manager - has international
experience in Business Development and Corporate Communications
having worked from London and New York, developing communications
strategies and dealing with investor relations for companies
such as Daimler-Chrysler, MCI Worldcom, Texas Instruments,
Barclays Bank, Banco Santander, Terra Networks, Askit Systems,
Golin Harris y Stanton Crenshaw. He was also co-founder of
Latinia Corporation and Appareo Corporation, and is currently
CEO of Can Poeti SL, a branding communications company which
focuses on supporting projects across the globe in the areas
of sustainability, ecology and health. Ouziel also sits on
the Board of Directors of Mas Claperol, the oldest organic
dairy farm in Catalunya, Spain, and his work has appeared
on ZNet, the Palestine Chronicle and the Atlantic Free Press,
among many other progressive publications.
Karen Yen – Art and Design Manager- is an
accomplished Graphic Designer and Art Director, with experience
that spans the globe from San Francisco to New York and currently
Barcelona. From her professional debut in New York, working
with design firm, Slover and Company, and later moving on
to companies such as Martha Stewart Merchandising and Conde
Nast Publications, Karen Yen has finally found her place in
design in Can Poeti, SL, a branding and communications company
that was created with her husband, Pablo Ouziel, which supports
global projects with humanitarian, ecological and/or sustainable
initiative. Karen’s creativity can be found in the packaging
of Bath and Body Works products, the identity program of Amayal
(a humanitarian clinic in Mexico), the websites of Natura
and Diego Fortunato, and in the identity system of Mas Claperol
Organic Dairy Farm, among others.
Sejal Chad – Content Development Manager -
has spent time studying, living and working across the Middle
East, India, the US, and is currently based in London, UK.
For three years she worked at leading progressive publishers
Pluto Press in both sales and editorial capacities. She also
had work experience with Zee News Channel, Verso Books and
Seven Stories Press, and has been involved in new media projects
that have been show-cased at major art festivals, including
Transmediale, Berlin. Most recently she worked at and completed
a counseling course at the Refugee Therapy Centre in London.
Currently she is working towards a Masters’ degree in Poetic
Practice at Royal Holloway, University of London. |
